This week’s card is the Queen of Cups, known as the Queen of Water, in the Angel Tarot by Doreen Virtue. I deliberately chose this card to discover what advice the Queen could give me on other areas of my life.
Deliberately choosing a card means that you turn the cards Face-Up and choose a card on purpose. Pick one whose energy you would like to embody.
In this particular spread, it is more helpful to choose the most positive energy possible that feels best to you – something that you would like more of in your life.
[Tweet “Choosing your own card to integrate that energy into your life is a great #Tarot practice!”]
I drew a card for each of 3 areas of my life: family, friendships, and business and got the following results:
Family: Eight of Fire. “Things are moving at a fast pace. Delays are over. Many things are happening at once.” This is an understatement – we are moving to Chicago in just a few days.
What does the Queen of Cups say about this situation? Trust your intuition, care for yourself and others. This is definitely a time to make sure I am aware of more self-care so I don’t get overwhelmed by the move.
I’ve already planned time in my calendar to spaz out over the move.
Action Steps: Plan some downtime to recover afterwards. I’ll look at what other steps I’d like to take for self-care during this time.
Friendships: Three of Air. “Great Sadness. Take time to heal. The need to forgive yourself or others.”
The Queen of Cups would advise to breathe into the situation, practice humility and forgiveness, and admit where you contributed to the situation. She’d also remind us not to let our friendships languish.
Business: King of Earth, also knows as the King of Pentacles or Coins in many decks. “A successful time. Confidently accept opportunities you’re offered. The Midas touch.”
The Queen of Cups would remind us that success and opportunities are built on relationships. Remember to continue to develop your business friendships, and don’t get too big for your britches on your way up.
Today, choose a card that you would like to embody the energy of, and then choose 3 other cards for each area of your life: family (or specifically your relationship), friends, and business.
How does it feel to freely choose the card you want to embody? What did you learn about what it had to say about different areas of your life? What will you do differently? I’d love to hear about it in the comments below!
